Connecticut checking in!

Hi all! pretty new to the site. My name is Nick and I am in the planning and hording stage of my build. My project car is a 93 B model auto(formerly a Florida car) with 63K miles. My donor car is an 89 5.0 LX convertible with 82K miles.

So far so good. Got the green light from my (totally awesome) wife to do the build after watching Gearz. Sold it as father son project. Course my oldest is 4 and my youngest is 1. I am pretty sure she saw right through me!

Anyway looking forward to learning a lot and hopefully pass some of it on through the site.

BTW, I know its been brought up but I would like to cast my vote for a separate SBC and SBF subforum. There is some knowledge to be shared but I am interested in learning what I can from other Ford Conversions.

Thanks again
Nick K

Welcome in. Don't worry. Unlike mustang/camaro back and fourth bickering, 5.0/5.7 guys share the boards peacefully. :)

I know, I've been lurking long enough to know there is no bickering. I think it's all in fun. You won't see me try to convince anyone that an LS(X) swap doesn't have the potential to make more " streetable" hp.

It would just make it easier to follow post that are more closely related to my project, that's all.

question for jason

Does the modified oil pan that Martin modifies in his kit take less engine oil? Also do you know what the refrigerant charge is in ounces is required using your hose kit and the Ford compressor. My replacement dryer does not have a sight glass so I have added the factory charge plus 8 oz. Pulling 45 degrees but want to make sure I am not under or over charging the a/c system.

Martin claims it still holds the stock amount but I usually end up putting about 4.5 quarts in it. The area where the dipstick goes is unmoddified so whatever it's reading is accurate.
