Cheers, from the wet coast

Hi Guys
I've been thinking about getting a monster for awhile now, then a friend scoops me and buys one before I do, cool, now I know I want one.:)
I'm finally in a financial position to make it a reality so I'll buy a car when I see the right deal and spend most of this year researching my options.
I seem to gravitate to engine swaps so I know I'll be doing this one soon, so far for swaps I've done:
-V8 Vega
-351 Cleveland into a '74 Bronco
-SBC to BBC in a Camaro
-BBC to a Poncho in a Goat
-SBC into a 4x4 S10
-1.6TBI into a Samurai
-7.4 Vortec into a '57 Nomad (still finishing up this one)
I tend to go overboard whenever I get into a project so I'm thinking this should put some lead in my pencil:eek:
Thanks for the knowledge.
Rick

Good Luck..... if you are going ford which by your resume of previous builds it is hard to tell but Jason MMR 331 is your guy with all the Ford Knowledge.. Gerry

I haven't decided yet, hence the research. I don't even have a Miata yet, but I am shopping.
At the moment it appears every option has two sides.
The Ford is cheapest, appears easiest and has the most knowledge base to tap into. But to get 350+ horse out of a NA Ford Windsor AND retain emisions compliance (+fuel economy) is also appearing expensive and possibly difficult, at least as far as emisions and fuel economy go...
The Chevy appears more expensive, out of the gate anyway. But 350HP emision legal with fuel economy is only a click away. You get an extra cog, plus the engine bay kinda reminds me of a hemi Dart. An all alloy engine is a plus too.
Before GM discontinued Pontiac I wouldn't even have had a question which way I would go, But I'm still a little PO'ed about that mess...
At this point I'm still leaning towards a LSX type build, unless someone sways my opinion.:)

Hey Friend! :p

Oddly enough I heard about this at work the other day, Is this a small town or something?
Guess I might as well enjoy the summer since i'll be the guy with the "slow miata" soon enough I'm sure!

You know where the car is if you want to have a peek at anything if you need a closer look. Always welcome!
Also i ordered a copy of the Monster Miata Kit manual. Should be here anytime, your welcome to that as well.

Hope to see you around more often :)

Hi John
working 12's keeps a guy invisible, even in a small town. But they pay buckets full of cash so who am I to argue?LOL
Phase 1 has started, I'm cleaning out the basement to make room, the wife will peak when she catchs wind the Zook is going on the block, along with the Wave. The only things staying are her trucks and the bikes.
I've got several leads on usable platforms, so I should be picking one up begining of June, possibly sooner...
Cheers
Rick
