And as for the Tiger conversion... I'm reluctant to do it as this is such an incredibly rare car. There were fewer made in 1946 than any other year, and precious few of those exist today. With that said, I'm more interested in getting this beauty back on the road as something that my sons and I, along with the general public, can enjoy. The most reliable way to do this is to convert it, and that should make it reliable enough to be a daily driver if I want. Honestly, even I think it is too far gone as an Alpine to truly bring back to life without spending upwards of $75k by my conservative estimates. I'll have to do some checking to see how much (if any) irreversible modification I'd need to make to perform the conversion. If I can do it yet maintain a car that could, someday, be re-converted back to an Alpine, I'd be much more willing to jump in.

As for now, I'm just trying to find a way to get it cheaply out to TX. Once I do that, I will put it into a workshop on my friend's property. He's building a brand new workshop and has graciously let me perform the restoration/alteration there.

I do need to rescue it though. Soon. I'll not be party to any more damage or neglect to this car.

And that, my friends, pretty much concludes the story of the Sunbeam; at least up to this chapter.

I saw that some time ago. Oddly, the Volvo Amazon was the first car I ever owned; at the ripe old age of 4 years old. My dad bought a parts car to repair his Amazon. I cannot tell you how disturbing it was to see the parts car being towed off one morning. I was beyond distraught and felt very betrayed. It was pretty awful. So, I really loved this episode. Seeing the Volvo in a totally different way than I ever knew it was fascinating.

As for my Miata... Well, we had a bit of bad luck today:
