Spring project planning
Well, spring is just around the corner. As soon as the snow clears the car comes put of hibernation and spring interior mods start.
I need to pull the seats and carpet out as I have to cut into the rear bulkhead to weld in nuts for the frontmost rear suspension brace. It's a '90 so it didn't come with the brace or attachment points. I also plan on a rollbar, probably a deuce, as well as some interior sound deadening/heatsheilding. Does the dash have to come put to pull the carpet? I was hoping for minimal downtime as our season is short. Also, what's better? ....the matt insulation or the spraydown stuff? Another non related question. I put in a fan over ride switch. Exactly how would I wire a little light that would indicate the fans are running regardless if they're activated by the engine fan switch or the manual switch? |
On your indicator bulb, one wire would go to ground, & the other would go to the wire that supplies power to the fans when they are energized by the temp switch or override switch.

Dash doesn't necessarily have to come out to pull the carpet, but it will basically be impossible to get it back in with the dash in there!

The carpet at the driver's and passengers feet is connected at the top of the transmission tunnel behind the tombstone. I cut the carpet there when I removed it and now I can easily replace it without pulling the dash. The cut is behind the dash so you never see it when in place.

Awesome idea. Thanks Casey.
Thanks T-bone, that seems easy. Happy New Year everyone. |
