The answer is always Miata.

I've never really been a car guy. Always rode bikes. But with me moving from pothole city New Orleans, to the Smoky Mountains, I want one. What better car than a Miata? What's even better than that? V8 POWERED!!!

In my head of what I want in the "perfect" car. Nothing beats a Miata in the mountains. Not pound for pound. So, there are a few things I won't say I don't like about the car, but let's say I'd improve on. The motor, paint colors, and interior colors. The motor is the easy part. The interior/paint isn't.

This is what I like:

This color:

This interior:

And this stance:

Since I'm taking the entire car apart for the conversion, I might as well paint it, and get the lower dash and seats recovered in oxblood leather.

So not too hard.

Ok, not to be a poser or wanna be, I don't own a car "yet". Reason being I'm moving in 3 months and it will be another thing I have to drag 700 miles. I can't really do that. So, I'll wait to buy one once I move.

I have been collecting lots of parts for the v8 conversion and I'm buying the V8R frame conversion next week.

Thanks, and glad to be here and doing this.

Have you seen the 93 LE red interior? That would probably be an easy option to get it looking the way you want.

Welcome to the forum I like your style! If you don't mind I'm going to flip this over to the intro department till you start your build. It is a great introduction thread but the Ford guys will never see it.

So are you thinking NA or NB? You might want to get the car before you get the frame because they are different. Heck of a move you are making and close to Atlanta for the big get together.

I'm going with a NB.

I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. But it will happen. Here are a few other things I've done.

Here is the 2nd teardrop trailer I built:

Trying to figure out where I am getting engine delivered to. Hopefully the company I work for will let me get it delivered there. That and a MaxJax.

Have you already settled on a house?

I love my MaxJax and all but if I had the ceiling height I'd definitely get a full size 2-post.

LOL you guys and your hoists taken the easy way out! I love the teardrops!

I work offshore and well, to put it shortly, I THOUGHT my ex-wife was paying the house note, but she wasn't.

So now I have the 7 year wait. I'm renting a storage/garage space. I wish I could have a 2 post lift. Plus, I'm moving to Asheville from New Orleans in March. That's why I haven't bought a car yet. I already have 3 motorcycles, a teardrop trailer, and a sh*t load of tools. So I'm waiting it out LOL.

Even though, I'm probably buying the transmission this month. I have the $$$ put away for the entire drive train. I just don't wanna have to move it LOL.

TD trailers are really fun, small, and I can tow it with a stock Miata! Plus I want to be able to pull my bikes to the Gap with a small trailer, quickly. And have a fun car to ride in the mountains.

So when will this thread be worthy of being moved back to the build threads? Once I have a engine or a car?

I have been getting the itch to just buy a car LOL.
