Been wondering what progress you made lately.
Sure looks like it is going to be a fun car when you are all done.
Old school, just love it.

Thanks, I would have a lot more done but I built a pair of miata dune buggies for me and my fiancé to beat on in the woods over the summer.

Pulled motor to re gap rings and swapped intake to xcellerator

Also turned a 750dp into a blow through. I will be using a vac operated power valve on the primary side and boost operated power valve on the secondary side. Larger accelerator pumps also. I’d rather start rich and tune the fuel out.

Will be using an electric water pump too so I’m just running a small belt for the alt on a custom bracket

Started on tunnel. It’s going to be just like a van so I can unbolt it for easy access to everything. I just need to weld some sheet metal to the flange next

Oooh. I really like the idea of a bolt in tunnel opening. I may steal this.

That thing is going to be some wicked fun when it gets done.
Definitely thinking out of the Miata box.
It actually reminds me of a V8 Vega that a neighbor had back in the 80's except for the turbocharger.
The hood scoop has a real throwback vibe.

How did the Miata buggies work out?

thanks, the buggies are actually really good in the trails and in the mud. They keep up with the side by sides just fine but just more bouncy.

The front shot looks a bit "Mad Max". Looking forward to seeing this one completed.

yes it’s definitely mad max “ish” I use everything I have in the garage before I buy anything cause I’m on a tight budget. I also like the character of homemade parts
