Surge tank / Overflow Tank

What are you all using for a surge tank/recovery tank? Something that attaches the large hose tee'd off the heater hose and the smaller hose that goes back to the radiator side tank.

Are you not using the stock Miata coolant reservoir? What is the hose teeing off the heater hose doing?

More importantly....are you building a new car? You sold the last one, right?

I did indeed sell my V8 Miata. Still missing it too and keeping an eye out for a sweet deal to fall into my lap!

This was regarding an LS swap into a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Wound up using the 2012 Chevy Silverado stock surge tank.

PJ, the hose teeing off the heater hose goes into the bottom of the surge tank and there is a smaller hose that goes from the surge tank to the radiator. Coolant actually circulates through the surge tank allowing for expansion and also provides the coolant fill location as well as overflow (puke function).
