LS7 Snorkel Baffel anyone running one

I was looking at some of the build dairies on FM and ran across this. They say it eliminates surging at high speed caused by high air flow across the entry of the LS7 snorkel. Anyone using one? Im interested in some more photos.

Never heard of it. Wonder if you can do anything about it with a programmer.

Did you see any mention of what "high speeds" are? Looks like it wouldn't be too tough to fab one, either way. They've probably got track more seat time behind more chassis/engine combos than anyone, they'd probably find the issues such as this.

This is what they say on their web page;

Here's an interesting little piece we've developed.
Our LS7 intake setup is very effective at pulling in cold air, but we've seen a bit of fluctuation in the MAF readings at cruise due to the effects of the airflow over the end. This means a bit of surging.
The solution is this baffle. It cleans up the airflow quite a bit and stabilizes the MAF readings. It makes almost no difference on the dyno but improves the driveability. It's also hard to see when the car's not on a lift.

It would cause a laminar flow of the air to occur at the upper portion, this May relieve the turbulence which is causing the air to buffet in front of the snorkel. You have nothing to lose.

I'm running one. I figured if nothing else it prevent water spray on the filter. I've never run w/o it to see if there is much difference.

So its hard to tell, does it curve at the back to direct air upwards?

If it wouldn't be to much of a bother would you measure the opening between the baffle and the front finder for me?

Thanks

Do you mean the size of the spacer?

Yes

.5 inch

I've never heard of one either. I wonder if FM being at a much higher elevation than most of us has an effect on it.

Doubt elevation has an effect. I used it on mine mostly b/c with my bumper cover the intake was visible. More concerning to me than ram air effect surging was the the thought of water being rammed if I got caught out in the rain.
