accessory drive for ls1 swap choices?

I know I need to make a build thread, but I have been soo busy selling parts from my 2000 firebird I haven't had a chance.

I have heard that i need to use the cts-v accessories to clear a radiator in my 95 . Im ok with that but do I need to keep any of the brackets?

I have a guy willing to drive four hours tomorrow to buy my fbody accessories AND brackets for his s13 ls1 swap. This isnt going to bite me in the butt, is it? Or is it all worth holding on to?

I'm just using my F body stuff. I'll find out in a couple days how well it clears but I have seen several threads where guy use F body stuff just fine. I am not using a proper V8 swap radiator so I may end up putting my fans on the front to clear things.

Hello gentlemen - I was wondering what Brandog decided to do regarding the accy's? I will end up selling all my GTO accy's within the next 2 weeks or so. I was going to have the alternator bracket machined down the 0.7xx" so it would work with the CTS-V stuff but I ended up finding a reman CTS-V alternator and new bracket on the interweb. I'll just sell the GTO one now....

You won't be able to mix and match the F body and CTS-V items as the serpentine belt sits at different distances from the block. I look forward to seeing Jim's (Charchri4) engine go in (he'll be there before he knows it as fast as his build/blog is going!) to learn his methodology.

I don't have all the stuff on the engine yet but it looks like the F body stuff will work just fine. The stock Miata fans I was hoping to use are too thick but that is no biggie. I'll either put them on the front or get skinny ones.

BTW Pat I know you were messing with your shifter so I thought I would let you know the F body T56 puts the shifter dead on in the center of the hole. Not sure if the GTO trans is different but I was glad to see how it came out.

I'm pretty motivated because summer in Minnesota is way too short and it's here!

Jim!! Look at that LS in your engine bay. Awesome. And you got quite a bit of room in front of that F body water pump. I'm impressed.

Man after seeing the fitment it looks as though it might be possible! Man too bad I sold everything already. Guess I'm going with the cts-v stuff (a sure fit). As far as it sits right now, I'm still selling off the body parts, including the chassis. I paid 1200 for the running car, have made 900, and have a guy wamting to buy the rest for 1100. Looks like I am coming out on top!
I still have to source my t56, then I might decide what to get next.

With the CTS stuff you might be able to use your stock fans on the back of the rad and save some there. Sounds like you are coming out really good on your sales. Congradulations!!

BTW take lots of pictures as you go. There have been many times I went back to my photos to see which bolts when were or how a harness was run...

Man, you really did do well on the parting out phase. I probably should have looked harder for the right donor Camaro to buy. I missed out on a few on-line auctions back in the winter, but it's probably just as well since I wouldn't have been able to inspect the wrecked car prior to buying... Probably woulda had a cracked alum block or something!!

Regarding CTS-V accy's, I recommend writing down all the GM individual part no's and search eBay, Amazon, etc to see what the best deals are. You may be able to do it cheaper than buying the one, new GM parts kit.
