I wonder how ls3 intake compares

Well, glad to see a test comparing the LSXR vs. the new Airforce intake. I think I'll end up going with the LSXR

I have a LS1 in my Jeep and a truck 4.8 on a stand in the shop. Sounds like I might want to put that truck intake in my Jeep b4 I go have it tuned. Plus the LS1 intake would look nicer under the hood of a Miata if that's where the motor ends up.

Yeah, the truck intake is definitely better than a stock ls1 intake. Depending on the year though, ls1's came with ls6 intakes. So I'd do some research into that before deciding.

BAM!!! Verified mine is an LS6 intake! Much thanks for saving me the work and downgrade!! Mine is out of a 2001 Camaro and I validated no EGR port.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good find, interesting read, thanks.

Ls3 manifold would need different heads. These are all cathedral port heads, ls1/ls2/4.8-6.0 truck style. The newer 6.2/ls3 motors have different, rectangular ports, and most agree that this is the best option for preformance/flow, though the difference between aftermarket and/or ported cathedral vs rectangle port heads is narrower.

Glad to see the fast holds its own well. Ported, I'm sure it's an even wider gap.

One thing to consider is there was no tunning in between runs, might show more spread
