I was able to get the crossmember over Flyin Miata's frame rails on the last build. I just didn't like that one of the crossmember bolts did not go through the rail cover, hence using V8R's solid covers.

Casey, I'm thinking of adding frame rails too. Did Martin's tranny brace fit over the V8R rails without modification?

The V8R rails make the frame rails wider than factory so I cut the ends off of Martin's brace- just the vertical section that sits on the outside of the frame rails. Then I ran bolts from the inside edge of the brace, through the frame rails, then through the pieces I cut off. It's a snug fit getting the brace wedged between the rails but it worked.
