Uses of a Mercury Grand Marguis 1988 5.0 v8
I was wondering if I could use the bottom end of a Mercury Grand Marguis 1988 5.0 v8. I would use a 331 stroker kite from Sckat with a set of Pro comp alm. heads(65cc).and the following:
-24lbs injectors -upper and bottom intake manifold from an 93 GT -65mm Throttle -72 mm Mass air -Timing cover from an 93 GT -E303 cam -65mm EGR spacer -Monster miata oil pan -93 high volume water pump(cobra?) -V6 mustang alternator(G3 type, 1 wire) -v6 mustang starter (PM type, 1 wire) -Fox body power steering/AC bracket and AC rear bracket -Fox body AC compreessor -MSD bullet distributor -New light weight flywheel and Exedy stange 2 clutch kit -T-5 tranny with shifter and custom drive shaft -7.5 limited sip 3.27 rear end and new half shafts -McCully Racing modified v8 conversion harness -McCully Racing pretapped thermostats hosing Main question is will all this work with the Mercury Grand Marguis 1988 5.0 v8 bottom end? |
Nice to see you found this site as well. I'm MSC302 over at the other site. Fortunately over here I'm also allowed to tell you that I sell a aluminum driveshaft that you'll need as well. It only weighs 11 pounds and is rather, even according to my wife, "pretty".
Feel free to call with any V8 Miata questions, -Jason McCully |
@ Jason, LMAO
What subframe do you use The Monster Miata or did you fab one up? |
I've used the Monster Miata modded one for the last 4 builds since it works well with his headers. If I were to want to use a set of headers that do not route like his I would use a bare V8 Roadsters tubular subframe and have Ford mounts welded on. We may be doing this as a retro fit for one customer of ours.

Just an FYI- most of the same people on M.net also look here, minus a few.
On here we have a bit more freedom.... Especially with a grade school teacher as our admin :p |
