Power steering just doesn't work
As the thread title states, the power steering on my 94 5.0 swap doesn't work. I didn't do the swap but it appears to be the factory Mazda pump.
The fluid level is good. Also no major leaks. Doesn't make any noises. The belt has tension and doesn't slip.
Searching didn't provide much useful info unfortunately so I'm at a loss. Here are some photos of the set up. I'm open to all suggestions at this point.

Looks like a nice setup actually!
They integrated a 6 rib pulley onto the Miata pump so pay particular attention as to how they did that. You do not want to mess that pulley up in any way otherwise you have a "project" on your hands. If they modified the pump shaft to accept that pulley you may be in trouble as well.
It could also be the rack itself too i would suppose...

Time flies... it's a 2002 Explorer v6 pump. Replaced 4 times (reman units) without success. No noise, leaks, or anything.
Someone pointed out the exhaust heat could damage rack seals. With forward facing headers, it's quite likely.
It's much easier to steer with street tires vs slicks; not a big concern now. Probably have to disassemble at some point.
