When wiring up the computer do you need to pull the dash to be able to pull the carpet back for access?

No, but it makes it a lot easier to trace wires and gives you a little more room to move around. It's not that bad to remove the dash, I was surprised.

I only removed the seat, center console, glove box, & part of the evaporator case that is held on by the clamps.
