Why not use the computer from the 95 Mustang? That is what I am switching to. I am using an A9L harness with some of the pins swapped around.

Thanks, a couple pictures; 1st is the alt/smog pump bracket cut to allow the ac compressor to be mounted in the smog pump location. If you never intended to add ac and don't need to worry about the smog pump, you could trim the bracket even more, reducing size and I suppose a bit of weight. 2nd is another underhood shot. In edit I see I need to clean things up, still looks pretty rough on close inspection. HTH

3 Attachment(s)
Think I got it figured out. I'm using the 3 holes in the head to mount a custom bracket.
Attachment 7009 Then I made a template out of thin aluminum...lined up the holes. Attachment 7010 Local machine shop is doing up a 1/2" piece of aluminum bar. I'll use studs to mount and aluminum spacers for standoffs, the pully gets centered as shown. Should be good to go. Attachment 7011 |
Brad, I've been super busy project managing a pipeline project, it's seven days a week so not much me time for the boards. You've developed a good plan. I like it. Only detail is to make sure you have perfection (or as close as possible) on pulley alignment on all planes. Less than perfection and you'll have belt squeal, don't ask me how I know.
There are several video's a web search will turn up and laser tools help. I used a straight edge along with a jerry rigged laser while tuning my set-up. Good Luck, ( oh, and I have three bolts on mine, one was a convenient water pump bolt and I used silver painted conduit over the bolts. You can fine tune by trimming the tubes and adjusting the bolt and or adding washers). RR |
