ford 4.6L conversion questions

Is there anyone that has done a ford 4.6 DOHC 32 valve conversion?

Conventional wisdom says the engine's a bit too wide but a few have tried to fit one in. The only one I've actually seen did not have the headers worked out (the tightest part) but did have the engine in place. The engine is also pretty heavy for it's size with is why the go-to engine for Ford conversions still seems to be the pushrod windsor 302. If someone has done one though please post and add some pictures!

As was already mentioned, the engine is quite a bit heavier(I no longer remember the actual weight) than the Ford SB and LS engines normally installed in Miatas.

Before the Ford DOHC 4.6L was even on the market I measured one and crossed it off and a no-go for the Miata. The biggest issue is no room for exhaust between the Miata's "frame" rails. That means either major alteration of the car's structure, or sitting the engine really high in the engine bay. I saw some pics of a Ford DOHC 4.6L in a Miata. The engine was positioned high. A heavier engine mounted higher, that's not what you would want to do.
