Fitting a Miata Radiator with a Ford 302

Will a 52mm aftermarket Miata radiator fit and effectively cool if used with a 302 Ford that has a short nose water pump. I am not going to have PS or AC which allows me to use the short water pump, short balancer and short alternator bracket. I will have only one V belt around three pulleys.

I don't see why not if you effectively duct it. The LSx's are using stock sized radiators.

Bad Idea.....

I think Tony LaBoy used a aftermarket Miata rad in his. If they work for LSx's why would they not work for 5.0's?

It MIGHT work........but why go to the expense and time and take a chance. I'll admit that I'm an "overkill" kind of guy but I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and be sure. To each his own. Thanks, Tony

Actually, the Griffins are cheaper. I was just thinking about easier installation.

Once you get the radiator sorted out, since you're using the short-front accessories, you might have room to consider using the Ford Contour puller fans. Cheap at about $110 new, good air flow, low and high speed depending on your controller, and an integral shroud. They fit Martin's kit radiator perfectly; you might see how they would align with whatever other radiator you choose.
