Battery disconnect for winter storage

Does anyone here disconnect their battery for long term storage? What about the KAM (keep alive memory) in the computer. Any issues or does it successfully relearn after a few minutes of driving? Thank you in advance.-Brad

Mine has been plugged into a Battery Tender for the past 3 years.

I did go that route with my Sunbeam Tiger at one time. As you probably know that car also has a trunk mount battery. The device probably overcharged the battery. That spring when I got in to start it the battery blew up in the trunk. Luckily it just blew the tops off rather than spew sulfuric acid all over. Still sounded like a shotgun going off close by. When I looked that problem up on the internet I found several instances of it occurring to people. It happens more often than one would think.-Brad

I have one of the master power shut-off lever switches that drag racers utilize.
Mounted it to a bracket near the battery in the trunk.
It won't work for official drag racing safety rules due to the location but I can use it to isolate the battery when the car sits for weeks at a time and it also makes a good anti-theft device.
Since mine is an LS1 conversion it doesn't answer your actual question on the Ford ECU.
