302 mount part number question

Making the a subframe today and wondering what mounts for a 5.0 most people are using? I was going to try to find the most common urethane bushing and build my mount around that. I did search but my time is limited because my wife is a time thief so I'm sorry if i missed the obvious.

What is the one martin is using? Whats the 70's dodge truck puck that i read about? Any others?

Just about any Dodge V8 truck from the '70's

Sweet, found it on rockauto for $4 each. Searched 1963 d200 318/5.2 motor mount if anyone was looking for the same one

Started the oil pan but ran out of argon and it was a little contaminated, so ill guve it another good cleaning. Did it a little deeper than most, modifide the oil pump housing a little

You may want to bolt the pan to the block before you put the heat to it.

Flipping this over to the Ford section because of the great info in this thread.

Plenty if room. I tested it the whole time i was cutting and welding. It has much more taken out than i see with everyone else but thats why theres a bulge at the back for the pick up tube. For the front i shaved the extra tab off of the oil pump, that bought me ~.400-.500" to help clear the steering rack.

charchri4 11-25-2014 04:32 AM

No tbone is suggesting you bolt it down where it's going to live to help prevent warping when it's welded. That pan will twist up like a pretzel if you don't.

BTW you have way more moxie then I do I'd never trust my welding enough to attempt what you are doing here! Looking forward to seeing it done!

So what did you do with the oil pan then? And isn't the engine suppose to be blue and the cross members black? ;)

Yeah. I figured id change it up on the colors.

Finished and tested the pan, painted it ford grey. Had a manual rack so i gave that an overhaul. Bought a bunch of small stuff too, coolant hoses and stuff. Motor should be mounted to the trans this weekend. Then onto the rear crossmember
