Painting/powdercoating parts, color preferences/options?

Hey guys, here's a topic: coating for your subframes/control arms/brakes/etc on your car. This may seem a bit arbitrary to some, but most of us aren't spending time and money on our swaps just to have a rusty bucket with a bunch of power. So, for me I'm looking at powder coat, anodizing, and painting some of the parts under the car before I re-install them. And that begs the question, which colors to choose? I think the V8R choice of dark gunmetal grey is a safe, conservative color that looks good on most cars. However, here are a few shots of what I've been thinking of. I wanted green to look good, I really did, but decided against it after a 4" square tester.
I chose a number of copper colors to test, but the first turned out nearly grey. It was supposed to be bronze. I also have burnt orange and a gold color. Also tried a few blues (didn't get the right hue) and my favorite, the VHT Burnt orange metalic. As well, I'm getting quotes on the wilwoods for re-anodizing a similar color, with white lettering. My photos are are attached of my experimental colors. I used a lot of this black paint with great results. Quick Color 10-oz. Gloss Black General Purpose Aerosol Paint-J2851812 at The Home Depot The address on the can is the same as for the much higher priced Rust-oleum paint.

I like this product also. It looks good on engine brackets & accessories as well as the bell housing.Dupli-Color Engine Enamel With Ceramic DE1651 - Engine Spray Paint | O'Reilly Auto Parts

southern cars have less worry about the corrosion. Wire brush and bath in a can touch-ups for me as needed when under the car. If I had been the builder I would have likely powder coated most everything I could. ...semi flat black (same as my rustolem spray cans). ...I'm boring like that.

Can't complain about black. it works for about every oem car on the road! I'm enjoying the various color options. I think I may steer back to the hammered look silver/bronze, just because it goes well with everything else on the car. Still working on finding a place to anodize the calipers, otherwise I'll look into DIY or powder locally.

I really like the Ford blue and gold as long as you don't rice out on us with it. The matte white underside was never cool on 57 Chevys ether... |
