China knock off AeroCatch review
 

The upper/ rearward ones are real Aerocatches that I paid $80 for 2 years ago. They have 12,000 miles on them. The lower/ forward ones are China knock offs I paid 20 bucks for and installed last night.

I dropped one of the screws on the new ones and can't find it but I'll paint the silver screw head.

The color of the real ones is a little darker and the texture a little finer. The rods on the knock offs have a bit of a taper at the top that the real ones don't. Over all there is nearly no difference that I can tell.

I also have the Chinese version. After a year the hex head screws were rusting so I swapped to stainless. Latch works fine. I suggest just using stainless from the get go.

I had a friend who had the fake aerocatch latches fail on him and really screwed up his car. Personally I wouldn't use them as my only latch, but you've already got 2 real ones that are working just fine so I wouldn't worry about them
