OK well we hardly have any snow for this time of year but it was still 19 degrees when I turned the key this morning so beat that!

I think this beats it.

I was having such a good day too... :(

Wait, lets compare again in August! :)

OK so this didn't end quite like I planned! Road was a skating rink and the car is a death trap on ice!

Wow, looks like another couple of feet and you'd have made it up on and stuck the other shoulder. Hopefully no damage (other than mental). Fess up, any going backwards stunt driving involved?

LOL, The Munster is so much a DIVA that it won't even turn over unless the temperature is above 60*F. Has a mind of its' own. :gtfo:

Glad it didn't end badly. Any repairs needed?

Oh no, Jim! Are you okay? How's the car?

Wow! Didn't see this post earlier when I posted. :eek3: Hope you & the car are alright. Might be a good time to park it for some Winter mods?

Thanks guys. The only reason I get it out in the dead of winter is the Navy lets my son out for Christmas so we have an annual trip south to find traction. This year I managed 600 miles with him at the wheel and was never once terrified!

The trip I put it in the ditch shouldn't have been made. I needed to move the car out of the way and thought what the heck I'll drive it to work while I am at it. I was going about 55 and the road was wet for the first 25 miles of the trip but here was glare ice and the back end broke lose. I let off and went clutch in but it was too late the back end kept going left. When I left the road I was pretty much going backwards and came all the way around before I stopped.

I managed to back about half way back down my track but the hill was too steep to get it out. I pick up with a tow strap yanked me out and I was very grateful to have a trailer hitch on the car.

I took it to the car wash to try and clean some of the field out from under it.

It ripped some paint off the bumper and broke the tail light. I might fix it but more likely will put a Road America track sticker by it and let folks think what they like!

I did a little looking around and under it and don't see any issues. The back wheels are straight and check the fronts too. The insurance is back off it and she's going no where till April!

Glad you came out ok and the car isn't messed up. These cars like to tumble when they get in the soft stuff. Think Elliot Saddler at Talladega and you have the mental picture.
