Paco Motorsport Lift on V8 conversion
I have done 4 V8 conversions and wanted to do something different with this one. I have a build thread, but wanted to ask a specific suspension question.....
I purchased the Paco Motorsports B Kit with 3in lift brackets and extended ball joints. I also purchased the rear upper adjustable control arms. The front stuff went on just fine (all stock Miata components). On the rear I am having a problem with my V8 8.8 axles. These axles are the Martian Wilson Monster Miata axles. They were working great with the stock set up. After adding the 3in shock relocator, the lower control arm is pushed downward more than it was, and forces a different angle on the spindle. You have to push it way in on top to connect it to the upper control arm, but mine wont go. Pushing it in, causes the inner axle to bottom out in the differential. Not sure if something is wrong, or this is due to the V8 axles. I would hate to have to get shortened axles. The Paco Motorsports instructions say the adjustable upper control arm should connect at stock length, but I had to lengthen it by over 1 full inch. Its all connected, but the axles is fully seated in the differential. I'm thinking this is not good, as it is no longer a "floating" axle allowing for upward flex of the control arms. I have searched all over and have not heard of anyone having this issue. I even tried adding an adjustable coilover set at the shortest length. I have reached out to Paco Motorsports and awaiting comments. I'll add some pictures below.
