SOLD - 1992 MRM-Rescued Ford V8 for sale - $14,000 - SOLD

We're selling a 1992 V8 Miata that we picked up in rather rough condition back in the spring. We could see that it was a solid build in need of a little TLC so we took it on. It's come out better than we though it would and now needs to find its new home. Since it's my father's project I'll simply paste his write-up below:

1992 Monster Miata, built with Martin Monster Miata conversion kit, Ford 306 cu in small block, EFI. This car was built right and handles superbly. Asking $14,000 OBO. It is ready for anything from cruising to drifting or recreational track use. Below is what to appreciate about this car:

Mariner Blue
Cloth top (clear rear window)
Custom louvered headlight doors
TSI intakes with LED turn signal lights
"R" package front air dam (new)
Mudguards
2002 interior and dash conversion
Indeglo instrument dials
Power windows
2002 Leather seats
Eclipse AVN 6620 Touch screen stereo/I-Pod/CD/GPS and Terantula Amp
Italian air horn
Hard Dog Hardbar (SCCA approved, fits hardtop)
larger 1994-spec brakes
Steel brake lines
Power steering using Ford pump
15x7 American Racing Alloy wheels
General 195-50 V Rated all season tires
New exhaust (dual)
High Flow Cats
Borla ProXS mufflers
All fenders rolled
Racing Beat front sway bar
Polyurethane suspension bushings
Bilstein shocks, with adjustable height coilovers (500 front/250 rear)
7.5 T Bird with LSD
3.27:1 axle gears
T-5 trans
Short shifter
Engine Details: E 303 Ford Roller cam, SRP 11:1 Forged pistons, BBK 65 mm throttle body, 24 lb injectors tuned to 72mm MAF, MSD Billet distributor, TFI relocation kit, A9L Ford computer, heads have stainless roller stud rockers.

The A9l ecu has been reprogrammed with four separate tunes which can be selected via a rotary switch. We like "race".

If anyone remembers the pics of it back in the spring it had a certain "rat rod" feel to it. In bringing it back my father has:

-replaced and painted both the front and the rear bumper covers (replaced with actual Mazda parts)
-replaced and painted the rear trim. While he was at it he had it shaved.
-repaired and repainted both doors and front fenders
-reworked the exhaust so the car can sit at an acceptable height
-added an SCCA-legal Hard Dog hard top bar with padding
-verified the condition of the trans and diff. Both were replaced with new during the course of the original build
-removed valve covers and replaced gaskets.
-reworked some of the interior-the original job was a little rough in places.
-rewired some aspects of the car to more closely follow our wiring methods. The ECU was moved from the footwell to a custom bracket in the dash to keep it cooler
-many other things he can tell you over the phone

The conversion itself was done in 2008 and has what we are thinking is about 5000 to 10000 miles on it. While the owner kept very good records of what he had done he did not notate the mileage at which each upgrade happened. As I wrote above my father has gone over the car with a fine tooth comb and felt confident enough in it that last month he took it to Pocono for two track days. While my father and I are still debating which of us actually had the quicker lap times this car was definitely the only other Miata there that gave my car a run for it's money...

Just curious as to if AC can be put in this setup, and if so any idea what it might cost?

Ah, if only it was Laguna Blue (without stripes) :D

The post shows what I think is supposed to be a video posted yesterday, but it is incomplete. Is this a video of the car or what???

We unfortunately did not think to swap the camera in this car at the track day. We do have some track pictures and it may be in some other participant's videos as it passed them. This post only contains pictures.

I did post a track video from my Laguna, maybe that's what you're thinking of.

All Miatas should have stripes...and v8's.

To add ac it would need the following:

1994-97 Miata condenser
A set of my 1994-97 lines
A 1990-97 passenger side ac "manifold"
A 1990-97 connector pipe (condenser to dryer)
A 1990-97 dryer (new)
A 1988-93 mustang compressor with fittings
A new 1988-93 serpentine belt
A few wires and relays

You'd be looking at $1000 to $1500.
