2008 nc ls3

Would anyone be interested in my 2008 NC with a LS3 built by V8 roadsters? My gf hates it and that's enough for me. 38K. 4200 miles on the conversion 36,000 on entire car. TIA

Any pics?

mad0953 05-18-2021 04:49 PM

I do, but I am too old to know how to post them. Ideas?

mad0953 05-18-2021 05:05 PM

Hello, mad0953 -

This car has less than 5,000 miles and 2 owners since V8Roadsters did the conversion. I follow Cobra replicas and find that low mileage examples are not unusual. There are a number of reasons for that - Cobras are open (no top and no side windows), they are loud (sidepipes), they are hot and they are demanding (rarely do they have power steering or brakes). They are a car where the power can overwhelm you in a heartbeat so they are not for everyone.

I would think a V8 Miata would be easier to live with - convertible top with rollup windows, rear exiting exhaust, they have A/C (this one does according to the info) and heat, they have power steering and power brakes. They can be demanding since they have V8 power so that may not be for everyone.

You mention that your girlfriend does not like the car. I can appreciate that.

Is the car too loud? Too brutal? Does she just not like small convertibles?

How do you find the car? Is it a pleasure to drive?

The video in the link does not really provide much in the way of showing how the car drives, its sped up quite a bit.

As I say I am curious since there are 2 owners and less than 5,000 miles since the conversion, it makes me wonder if something is not quite right with the car.

Thanks!
.chris

I'm interested. I live in Idaho, where in Oregon are you located? When could I come over to see your car?

mad0953 05-19-2021 09:33 AM

She says it is way too loud and she is 5'10" and the car is too small for he, but mainly it's the fuel smell in our garage is unbearable to her. She has a very sensitive nose. She drives a Yukon. Big and safer. It does smell a little. It's a shittin' blast. I come from the generation where your right foot was the traction control, it's easy to get sideways but it comes right back when you let off.

Any time. Send me your info in a PM and I will contact you.

Anytime. Sent you an Email and a phone call.

It's darn near perfect. Nice solid ride, great handling and everything works.

cadtdi 05-19-2021 07:55 PM

Yep, I have been thinking about a V8 Miata for some time now.

Sounds like the awesome ride I would expect, I think the NC just lends itself to a V8 swap, its just a solid car all around. Not as nice looking as the NB but better suited for a swap like this.

I can understand the gas smell being a huge turn off, that needs to be checked out.

Good luck with the sale although I don't think you need a lot of luck.

You have a nice car at a very attractive price!

Yes, I am interested, if you still have the car. Please describe more completely, or message back to me.

Thanks!
