1999 Miata V8 Monster For Sale - $9,995 (Cocoa Beach) The poster’s description has only 5 photos & starts out like this: Back story short version: I bought this as a project car a few years ago, but my life priorities have changed. Now I won't have time to finish it. It can be demonstrated for a few blocks, but plan on transporting with a tow dolly or trailer. Short description: Car is a black 1999 Miata with extensive modifications based on Martin Wilson Ford V8 Monster kit with some additional goodies. Engine is a high output 302 Windsor, 5-speed manual transmission, Ford IRS rear axle. Track suspension but streetable, extra sets of wheels and performance tires. Flawless body with fresh paint and new soft top has been kept covered. Very good black interior. Factory hard top available. Warning! This thing is a literal Monster. It is definitely not a kid's toy. At under 10 lb/hp it's a handful. Please have some maturity, self control, and performance car skills and experience before buying it. If you show up looking like a clueless teenager spending daddy's money, then I will turn you away. Feature List: ■ V8 conversion — Based on complete Martin Wilson Monster kit with additional goodies. Custom modified front sub-frame to fit short stroke Windsor including power steering pump, A/C compressor, and full size starter motor. Dual sump oil pan modified to clear steering rack. Transmission tunnel enlarged for Tremec T5 bell housing. Slightly modified stock hood closes normally, a true sleeper. ■ Engine — high performance 302 Windsor roller block probably out of a 1985 Mustang 5.0 with factory hydraulic roller cam and additional bolt-on parts. In case you're not familiar with short stroke Windsors, they're tough little high reving V8s produced in the millions. Although I've never had it on a dyno, I'd be shocked if it puts out less than 250 hp, and not surprised if it's closer to 300 hp. ■ Intake system — polished Holley 600 CFM 4-barrel carburetor, dual inlet & float bowls, double accelerator pumps with progressive linkage, electric choke, atop an Edelbrock Performer polished aluminum dual plane intake manifold, low profile paper element air cleaner. ■ Hydraulic roller lifter cam has a definite power band starting around 4,000 rpm, up to the rev limiter. ■ Ignition system — MSD distributor with vacuum/mechanical advance, programmable rev-limiter, MSD coil, 8mm silicone wires, 6th gen Ford alternator. ■ Cooling system — huge aluminum radiator and dual oversize electric fans with custom built aluminum mounts, 160°F thermostat. ■ Exhaust system — Martin Wilson headers, old school dual exhaust the rest of the way back. It's louder than stock, but not call-the-cops obnoxious.

Posting removed
Craigslist now says the posting has been removed by the poster. If you try to find the other link shown on the engine photo, there is nothing at SailinCat's Home Page and www.sailingcat.com has no "forsale" page. When I first found the posting I phoned the poster & actually talked to him so it was an actual for sale ad then - it's probably now sold...
