It is time for Copper Top to find a new home, this has been the funnest car that I have built yet. Two trips to Road Atlanta for the Mitty and numerous car shows, it draws a crowd wherever it is. The car is very reliable even 2 1/2 years after the build.

Scott - Best of luck with the sale. I hope you'll let us know if you have another car project on the horizon. I, too, have seen and heard this V8Roadster twice at Road Atlanta, and it is very well put together. $25K is well worth the price, and (obvious to me) you couldn't come close to duplicating this build at that number with parts and labor. Pretty, pretty car! Best of luck and congrats to the guy who jumps on this one.

Thank you it took me nine months of only working on the car on the weekend to get Coppertop completed. As soon as Coppertop is sold I'll start looking for the next car an NC or maybe an ND. The new shop should be completed and ready to move into in a few months, that will make everything easier and faster.

Impressive build! PM sent

I'm sad to say that Coppertop has Sold, it's difficult to letgo of this build even 3 years later. It is going to a very deserving motor sports enthusiast in south Florida. I couldn't just watch it get loaded onto a transport and disappear into the sunset. So I told him to cancel the transport I will bring it to you. After a nice and leisureLy drive of 20 hours (15 in 1day) I was able hand him the keys. We then spent a few hours going over the car and he took me to the Airport.
So you guys on the east side keep your eyes open you will see it on the track.
Ken I hope that Coppertop gives you as many SMILES as it me!!!

He is in the North palm beach and lake park area. Coppertop was a nice addition to his stable One of the other cars being a Full race prepped 1990 Miata.

Hmm maybe I'll see it around, that's not too far from me and I frequent the palm beach cars and coffee every month.

not too sure how street legal the car will be when he gets done with it. Sounds like his plans are to make a full-blown track car. You may have to go to some of the road course tracks in the area to see the car run.

I have been working on this since November a fox body with a coyote swap, 8 point cage. The motor was completely rebuilt re-sleeved and one off custom ground cams to support the forced induction.

SupaDupaSteve 03-22-2017 04:44 PM

Well it is Florida, anything with a license plate it legal lol. Your picture isn't working either but a coyote fox is badass!

Scottgill 03-23-2017 12:01 AM

I put a few pictures of fox body coyote swap in the Coppertop photo album. I'm hoping to get around 1200HP out of this one and still be street able.

I talked to him Saturday he told me he was putting it up for sale. He's wanting a dedicated track car and that's not what I built that car for. He said the car was too nice to strip it down completely to make a dedicated track car out of it and it is tons of fun to drive on the street as well as on the track. So he decided to sell this one and have a dedicated track car built from an NB.
