1994 Monster 331 stroker sold by OSU Lemon

CAR SOLD.

purchased a 1994 Miata with a 331 McCully stroker and monster conversion. Rebuilt WC trans, rebuilt 8.8 LSD Ford, beautiful exhaust, etc., etc. Very well built car, but has a problem with the engine. 100lbs less compression on #7 and has too much blow by under load. The car is assembled and running/driveable. Runs fine and does not smoke or throw out too much blow by unless you put it under heavy load. I paid $13,300.00 for the car. The parts and build alone must have that kind of value, even with the engine problem. You can look at the photos and all the information on this car if you look at the 1994 5.0 in PA in October/November this year on the cars for sale list on this website. PM me if you have any interest in the car and would like to make an offer. Clear title in hand. I wasn't looking to take on a project. Thanks. Jeff Conner

Okay, I redid the compression test, then put oil in the #7 cyl. No change in compression. I believe that either the head is bad or head gasket. I might pull the intake and look at the valves and rockers to see what's up. I may even pull the rockers and blow some air in the cyl to see if I can tell where the leak is. The bottom end of this car was built by MRM on this site. It is a complete forged assembly. At the time of the build, the owner couldn't afford to put heads and intake on the car, but the plans were to do that at a later time. It was never done. Problem doesn't appear as bad as I was thinking. If I could recover $10K of my purchase price I'd be happy. Otherwise, I'll put some AFR heads and new intake on it and see what happens.
