1990 Cardiac Monster for sale NEW PRICE

Located in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Built by Cardiac Cobras for an Indy Lights driver
-#6 of 9 ever built in BC, signed on rear subframe
-1990 Miata chassis
-5.0liter V8 (302cid out of 93 mustang)
-3" exhaust all the way back to the flowmaster
-Cold-air, engine massaged by previous owner
-125/250hp wet shot nitrous (used once at Mission raceway)
-T5 5 Speed (out of 93 mustang)
-Supercoupe rear end
-Full custom suspension and ladder brace
-Flyin' Miata Willwood big brake kit
-Convertible top removed (I still have the frame, no canvas)
-Matching Hard Top
-105,000km

Mechanically good, cosmetically pretty good. It has been a driver so has some paint chips, no power steering or AC as this is a true hot-rod, and boy does it love to be driven. Second owner, selling after 9 years as there is no room for the baby seats and I want it to go to someone who will drive it. Got lots of interest at the Lake Country Customs and Classics show, always lots of questions about this very interesting car. Gets off the line like a Top Fuel Dragster, corners like a NASCAR, handles like an Indy Car, sounds like a Viper, and as reliable as a Miata. Own a modern day Shelby Cobra!

I am going to regret selling this as soon as it is gone. Unfortunately the values on the superb cars has fallen through the floor. Buyers market, and I need to get this sold. You know what every ad says, my loss is your gain!

$12,000 OBO - (was somewhat, now) VERY motivated as the wife wants it out of the garage and I would rather than :makeout: than :magna:

I will consider all offers for the car, including trades at this point. I love this girl but she has to go. The car, not the wife.

I'm willing to seriously consider this car if you're entertaining offers. I'm closeby in Vancouver and looking for a track car.
Can do a deal quickly all cash.

I owned No. 4 !

Hello Monster Mike,

Is this car still for sale? I owned No 4 of the 9 for 11 years. Unfortunately I ran in to a terrible mechanic that killed the motor.. and I could not afford to have it fixed, and had to sell it. It now has a new crate motor in it.. runs close to 500hp.

Id kill to get it back.. but the new owner is not willing to sell

I bought this car.

Full disclosure:
It needs tlc, mechanically, basically from lack of use. Business opportunity requires a quick sale.

I think the oil leaks are pan and valve covers. Leaves a business card size drip or smaller. Common? How hard is a pan change?

Coolant I hope is a hose I haven't found yet, replaced the weird 90' one up front, the bypass. Not sure if it did the trick. I have driven it once since I bought it, from the shippers. It's in calgary Canada.

Clutch hoping its just old fluid and adjustment. It catches if you go fast in third and fifth. Does that sound like clutch? Otherwise if a grandma it's ok. Maybe old trans fluid too.

What's something with these issues worth? I think eBay is best.

Or help me fix where issues could be. Or tell me how hard (hours) to fix.??

Oil pan
Clutch slave
Water pump
Rust crack on lower rocker.

I have to disagree with you on ebay being the best to sell a car like this. Ebay is great for low ballers looking for a cheap car but it is a expensive way for a seller to reach the small niche market that would want this car and the even smaller number of guys that could actually pay for it. It is much cheaper and more focused to plug it on forums like this one. I can think of a 2 dozen Miata, Mustang and racing forums with guys that would be interested in a specialty car like this that cost nothing to post on.

So is the car for sale again then? If so you should write up a new post for it.

FYI, to change the oil pan gasket you have 2 choices - remove the engine or remove the front suspension. I dented in my oil pan back in February and had the same options. I found the most recommended was to remove the suspension - so that is the way I did it. If I had it to do over again - I'd do it the same way.

You do have to hold the engine in place. I used the rig shown in the picture I picked up from Harbor Freight (for about $60).
