Sooo how about mitty 2016?

What cha think guys?

ToySnakePMC 12-07-2015 10:25 PM

Yes sir, it stays on my to-do list about every year. I had too many other distractions last year and missed going to dinner with the group and going for a run (away from the track) if y'all did such a thing that Saturday evening.

Fun stuff for sure. We had a great turnout too, but hope we can top it this year!

charchri4 12-07-2015 10:44 PM

Yeah I got really side tracked last year when my son showed up but hoping to go again this year.

tbone heller 12-08-2015 10:48 AM

I'm in.

Five-o-joe 12-08-2015 10:04 PM

I'm in. Looking forward to meeting you all in person. If there is a Ga. Caravan leaving from anywhere near powder springs, I'd like to tag along...

SupaDupaSteve 12-09-2015 06:24 AM

I really want to go and this gives me a deadline to get my car driving by.

stng_96 12-10-2015 07:44 AM

If my car is finished and has a few miles on it I will go....perhaps I can tow it down even if its not ready

ToySnakePMC 12-13-2015 09:58 AM

Looking like some nice hardware may be on display with this group so far! Stng.., it looks to me like you'll be ready! But even having an in-progress car there would be good for those to look at who are waiting to take the plunge!

You guys will love The Mitty - there's so much to see and take in.

Five-o-joe 12-16-2015 04:38 PM

After weeks of fabrication and getting all the details the way that I wanted them, I finally finished my vortech SC install on my SBF monster.....

I'll be bringing it to the Mitty.....

I look forward to meeting you all and checking out all the cool cars.....

Joe

ItsAllRigged 12-16-2015 06:15 PM

If Im not on a gig, I'll be there. Hoping I can make it as it seems like a ton of fun.

After crunching some numbers, I don't think it's possible for my car to be ready by then. Unless I win the lotto.. But, I will be there!

Nonsense we have all seen it run! Besides exhaust, hood, brakes so many parts are optional you know.. :)

Tell you want I'll bring a tow strap and roll with you if you are unsure of it still. Not that it would be terribly useful since it's much more likely I'd need the tow!

I just posted 4/20 to 4/26 off work but given what my commission statement has looked like the last 6 months I'll probably be in full drummer mode by then saying hey can I crash on your couch to everyone I see!

mrmustang 12-18-2015 05:44 PM

Might get down there on Friday, have Jeff Foxworthy tickets for Sunday :D

Well Jim, I have to say that I really value your opinion, but if you think brakes are optional then apparently my judgement is a bit misplaced.....And if you pick Marion as a stopping point again this year, theres a spare bedroom for you to use here for sure.

charchri4 12-26-2015 10:24 PM

Bummer. The bum gave my daughter a ring for Christmas and they are talking a September wedding. This is not going to be a good year...

ToySnakePMC 12-27-2015 12:18 AM

Jim.., your Christmas was FULL of surprises from what it sounds like! Congratulations to you and your growing family. Hopefully, you can still sneak in a car-guy weekend in April - maybe in the northern part of Georgia... Just sayin'...

stng_96 12-28-2015 09:23 AM

Hmmm, interesting take on this time in your life Jim. Does this mean you are for sure out? As I said before, I've got a room for you if you want it, thatll save you some right?

charchri4 12-28-2015 11:30 AM

LOL well it could be congratulations if I wasn't footing the bill! The guy is a decent sort but has never seen anything close to a successful biblical marriage modeled (other than mine from a distance) and is a quite short on life skills. We've talked a few times over the years they have dated and he doesn't understand even the most basic concepts of his role as a husband or oneness in a relationship.

So this next 6 months is going to be all about coming along side him and building him up to be successful in his new life. If he was a car guy it would be easy I would just bring him along but he would rather have a root canal than go to a V8 Miata gathering. So I'm headed into his world to connect and find those teachable moments but if it's at all possible I would love to come to Atlanta again!

stng_96 12-28-2015 12:08 PM

Well good luck to you, I'm sure if anyone can straighten him out it will be you.

tbone heller 12-29-2015 08:36 AM

For $60 they can get married at the courthouse. :makeout:

charchri4 01-08-2016 08:12 PM

LOL I already offered them 5 grand to elope and if they would have taken it would not be selling a lens and pondering this trip so hard!

I couple of guys I sim race with from Dallas and points south are going to make the trip. I did the same write up there I did here and they thought it looked great. So I suppose we better start a real thread with info, who's going and contact Keith to see if FM will roll out the carpet again.

charchri4 01-13-2016 01:21 PM

You guys see this? https://www.facebook.com/events/566147863536296/

Unk577 01-22-2016 07:05 AM

I'll be there, don't know what I'll be driving but I'll find something

portabull 01-23-2016 11:34 AM

hope to be there with the lfx miata we're building.

ToySnakePMC 01-23-2016 01:29 PM

The more - the merry! Look forward to seeing my first LFX Miata. ...That being the hot little V6, right?

And Jim, I gotta figure out how to get back to my Facebook acct... Been inactive for 3+ yrs. Hope that FB page helps get the word out.

V8droptop 02-10-2016 04:11 PM

I really want to this year, may not be able to. I could probably get a cheap set of wheels on the car, and If I can get it wired, well, hell it should actually be pretty close to driveable... I took a layoff middle of last year and my project has pretty much slowed to a a near hault since (one of those oil field guys out of work :-D).

Regardless, If I can get the time off, I'll go. Fly or drive, it was a really great time last year and I'd be happy to do it again! Anyone pondering the event, seriously consider going. From the Audi R8 Lemans car, to classic Porsches, Classic american muscle, and tons of old british metal (not to mention a brand new Porsche 918, Lambo Aventador, and Z06) there is a lot of eye candy for every taste, and one of the most easy going crowds at a race event you will ever run into. Loved it.

SupaDupaSteve 03-11-2016 11:51 PM

So, this is getting closer and closer. Who's going for sure? I'm 99% that I'll be there without my car sadly.

stng_96 03-16-2016 03:02 PM

Taking my car for alignment Friday, then making a tuning appointment. I am still shooting for being able to go, but I am not promising.

charchri4 03-19-2016 09:40 PM

I'm still struggling with what to do. I really want to go but it's just not a good time to make big trip like that.

Unk577 04-07-2016 10:09 PM

Found a car to take, I'll be there

ToySnakePMC 04-09-2016 09:53 AM

I'll be there ---- but no V8Roadster this year. I've taken it to the Mitty the past 2 years, but have some other things to take care of on Sunday in downtown ATL. Gotta pack up my nephew's apt as he is moving back home to VA that week. I encourage any and all to come to the Mitty and bring your camera as you stroll the massive pits.

The guys at V8Roadsters had a LFX car there last year. You must have missed it. I'm sure there will be a coupe this year

flipt86 04-09-2016 05:00 PM

Just got my pass for the weekend. Car still isn't done, but I'd love to meet up and talk to as many of you guys from the forum as possible. Looking forward to it, I had to skip last year.

charchri4 04-11-2016 08:14 AM

Been kind of quiet from Keith and the boys at flyin Miata this year. I still have not put eyes on my car yet for the year but am planning to this week. I have 4 options for that weekend of track and shoots and really need to decide want to do!

Keith 04-12-2016 08:54 AM

I only just got confirmation yesterday about some of the details.

We're in our old location this year, across the "street" from where we were last year. It should give us more room to spread out. We can set up a V8 corral easily.

The touring laps - free with a FM windshield banner! - are at 6 pm on Friday. Yes, we'll have banners in our booth.

We're going to be bringing the first ND with an LS3. It's not running yet, but we've got the big bits in place. We'll have a couple of other cars there, including another surprise product that isn't V8-oriented.

stng_96 04-12-2016 09:44 AM

My car is still at the tuner as of today......not sure that I am going to make it....I hate you all.....not really but kinda

charchri4 04-12-2016 10:54 AM

Damn the ND??? now that is painful! But hey I turned the key for the first time since October yesterday!

Awesome to see FM in their proper location! Didn't think they got a fair shake last year with that spot they were put in. See you guys there. And thanks to Jim for that nasty sound of spring in MN! That was awesome. Wish my LS2 would turn over that quick. Think my starter just sux!

Scottgill 04-14-2016 12:50 AM

Copper top is ready for the trip and I was ready weeks ago! We plain on driving straight through (12 hours) maybe a little less she likes to cruise at 85 to 90.
See you their!!!

Well this didn't go quite as planned. I knew my clutch had a problem but I thought it just needed a master cylinder kit. I never saw any drips before but now the reservoir drains out over night and there is a big puddle under the bell housing.

I could drive my cruiser but wouldn't be much fun. So I wish you safe travels, great weather and a fantastic weekend!

Meanwhile the cruiser does have it's perks...

SupaDupaSteve 04-17-2016 04:49 PM

sadly I cannot make it. I can't get out of work to allow a worthwhile trip up there. :(

Unk577 04-19-2016 03:05 PM

Loading the trailer now. So who all is going to make it?

If you're here at the Mitty, come by V8Roadster's booth and check out their LFX ND along their new line of X-Lite control arms

tbone heller 04-23-2016 08:10 AM

I am not going to be able to make it. I am going to get my other car out of storage this weekend where it has been for well over 2 years.

Scottgill 04-24-2016 11:25 PM

The Mitty was a little wet on Friday and great on Saturday. Flyin Miata's V8 ND is coming along nicely and you need to check out V8 Roadster's LFX ND it sets in like it was made for the car. Great work and engineering by them both.

AndyP 06-14-2016 05:51 AM

Sorry I missed it..... I was recovering from another surgery. But now that I am back on my feet, I have a little surprise!! Can you say "EPS"??
