I've seen dual receiver solutions for 911's and Mini coopers. I'm sure a solution could be fabbed.

+1 I actually looked at doing that when I got the hitch so I didn't have to drag the thing around all the time. Had I made one I probably would have done that but this one was cheap and from a buddy that needed the $$.

I went with a dual staggered tip. Yes, I need to remove the "tow" sticker! LOL. Been too focused on brakes and cooling issues.

what would be cool, would be a tip exiting on either side of the license plate...between the plates and the lights. Form trumping function, but would be different.

When I made my rocker extensions I came very close to running the exhaust through them in front of the back wheels. I really like the stereo effect of doing it that way but it's considerably more hassle to deal with hwy drone for date nights...

What's funny (to me) is my wife veto's making the Miata louder but she's running straight through (glass pack) type exhaust on her Cayman S and doesn't mind the drone at all. It drives me nuts. Especially since its a slush box tranny (strike two) making it hard to stay out of the rpms it drones at (legal cruise speeds). I think she likes it b/c it means I won't grab the keys to her car. Sneaking ones they are. Plus I suspect she doesn't cruise at legal speeds....

Removed the flowmaster and went with dyno-Maxx, They are not as loud as the flowmasters.

Thanks! The exhaust was, without a doubt, the most difficult part of my entire build. It started out as a huge box of various mandrel bends and took 3 days straight to build using nothing but a sawzall, a belt sander and a cheap Harbor Freight TIG welder. That photo was taken at the alignment shop right after I got it running. I've since raised the drivers side pipe about 3" as it was hanging a bit too low.

I like how you ran it thru the subframe. Nice work.

My vote *definitely* goes for the 2-centre option. As you'll need a centre cut-out to do this (pill-shaped, I presume, in keeping with the otherwise round lines of the NA), I'd suggest taking the rear clip to a shop that can the cut-out and fill over the right side cut out. Alternatively, consider the Duraflex Wizdom after-market rear clip, which will give you wide open space for centre exit tips (I have this clip on my car but the FlowMasters are - I think - too big to be arranged with centre exits). If interested, the Wizdom rear clip is currently on sale at GoMiata (just sayin', no connection).

Yeah I really like CME too but after copious amounts of laying under the car pondering it isn't going to happen. The effort to work around the trailer hitch just isn't worth it and I figured at least 100 bucks in bends to make it happen that I would rather spend on a wideband. I can't take it to a shop due to the road kill code of ethics (Thou shalt not pay someone to cut corners I can cut myself) and I'm not in the mood to do body work this spring other than possibly painting a splitter.

So my plan is to sell off the genuine Flyin Miata 3.5" stainless tip and put a pair of black 4" tips that don't stick out as far. With any luck I'll pocket about 10 bucks out of the venture to boot.

That shiny bit hanging out there, friends, would be commonly referred to as a Fine Looking Piece of Hardware

Hey brendabrown what is the OD size of those tips? My single in the shots above is 3 1/2 so I figured 4" would be fine but the 4" hunk of pipe I got looks huger than huge in the box.

After a year of pondering I finally did the tips. I didn’t want them to be a focal point that would jump out at you so I went with black rather than chrome. I wanted to fill up the bumper cut out and keep with the exaggerated cartoon character theme so I used the biggest pipe that would fit in the cut out. So a hunk of 4" pipe, can of high temp paint and 4 clamps got me pretty decent tips for 35 bucks.
