Thanks, Jim. That is at 8psi of boost. I have purchased some 10 & 12psi pulleys to try as well as a methanol injection kit that I will install someday. I also am going to install an ECM from a 1995 Mustang due to better tuning options. I just don't have the time to do much. I am in the process of building a home addition & working.

Great results. Sure to be a very fun ride.

But I don't get why you would say that it would take the wind out of an LS? A crate LS3 with no power adders or aftermarket is going to do similar (and more) at the wheels. The LS 1 and 2 aren't far behind with tuning and bolt ons. Add forced injection to the LSx and all bets are off.

Not taking anything away from the OP's chart/build. Just different ways of getting from point A to point B. Beside they can both go in a Miata, all I see is apples and oranges. (?)

My comment is more tong and cheek teasing of myself than anything else. It's easy to be cocky when your engine is bigger, lighter and more advanced technologically than your 5.0 brothers. So I think it's great when the little guy lays down numbers any LS owner would be humbled by. I'm pretty sure mine would not look this good!

One of the treasures of this forum is we have guys that would rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy and guys that would never waste their time with the dated 5.0. It makes for interesting and fun banter even though the other guys are dead wrong!

Ahh... good to hear its all in fun. I'm an LS guy but I really enjoy reading all the builds and seeing each person's approach. This chart is impressive, and I bet sounds great too.

I'll go back to my lurking till I have anything real to contribute.

Oh no you don't! You can't tell us you are an LS guy and leave it hanging like that. Now that you are out of the closet you owe us an intro thread! With photos!!

Tbone, you have an awesome setup, but I was honestly expecting a little more out of all that hardware. I was thinking over 400 easy. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have that kind of horsepower in mine. The engine I'm starting out with is built, but nothing that extreme, just solid. What is your next step? What do you feel is the weak link at this point?

A factory 5.0 block can only handle around 500/hp, so I am told. I am sure it is somewhere around 425-450/hp at the crank as it is now. With the forced induction, the air intake temps. are what limit it's potential. A re-tune with higher boost numbers on a 1995 ECM with 2 stages of water/methanol should show some improvement.
