AliceSML79, the NC platform is really roomy when doing an automatic. You shouldn't have any issues at all. I have sent all the pictures and details of what has to happen to V8Roadsters and have also spoken with Flyin Miata. I know Flyin Miata gets some mounting stuff from V8R so getting them to do an automatic wouldn't be too much trouble I would think.
I HAVE TO GET SOME VIDEOS! It is running and I am working on tuning right now. As soon as it quits raining, I'll get some videos posted up.

It is raining like crazy here tonight so I just did a quick walk around while it's on the lift. The fans are really exaggerated in the video but you will get the point..

I am going to do a drive video just as soon as the rain lets up here. I have been working on getting the AC charged up. It blows nice and cold now! I was really surprised that it worked on the first try. Pulled a good strong vacuum, charged up right and just worked!
I have to still get the odometer and steering wheel controls working.. The mitty is coming up fast!

It sure is, and I am so looking forward to seeing your MX5 in person! Your videos and quality of work is just over the top. Your installation just looks so well thought-out, obviously - or this intricate job couldn't have been pulled off so successfully. I have no knowledge or rear-mounted turbos, but something just looks SO right about this configuration.
I hope to see you at Road Atlanta this coming Thursday or Friday!
Best of luck on your final punch list. (Is it ever final??) Thanks, Patrick

I had a great time at the Mitty! Good to meet everyone and see some cool cars. The touring laps were especially fun. I wish they would have let us go a little faster down the straights but it was still great! Looking forward to doing it again sometime.

It was great meeting you! I would like some of those pictures you took when you get a minute. Bwiggins73 at att.net. I wish we could have stayed longer after the laps!

HBWiggins - I'm thinking about a '06-'07 LS3 build and yours looks great. Would it be possible to get a 'walk around' video and maybe a 'ride/drive' video? As I get closer, I may hit you up with questions. I'm just over the border on the North side of Atlanta. - Thanks, John Hunter

I do have a few videos to post up. I have been busy with work and haven't been on here much. I'll get some out tonight maybe. I need to do a good walk around and ride/drive video too.
I took it to the dyno Saturday. Numbers were not spectacular but I had a couple issues. A bad relay was making one of my fuel pumps work intermittently. I only made about 540hp/600 ft-lbs. That was on about 12 lbs of boost. We were afraid to push it anymore without finding the fuel gremlin! I just swapped it to E85 and was getting the tune close for that also. After I got home and found the problem, I plan to go up to around 17lbs of boost this Thursday night at a local track. We will see what happens anyway!
I will for sure do videos!

I'm probably going to put a rear turbo on mine. What brand and size did you use? Is the turbo oil cooled? Water cooled? Does it use the engine oil or does it have a separate tank? That is a very nice car!!!

Hey,
We met at the Mitty. I had the white NB at the V8R display Awesome car and build. I'm tied in with V8R as their conversion center. How's the automatic working out? Highway cruise rpm? Also, have you had a chance to weigh it yet? Maybe front to rear split? Probably pretty good with trans down low and in the middle of the car. Thanks.
I'm thinking of doing an LS3 auto as a shop car/ demo car.

Jackie,
I used a Comp Turbo CT43 7479 with the oilless option. So far it works good. I did however have to send it back to them to check out a couple things. Turns out they just did put enough grease in it when they built it. The only thing it uses is engine coolant. Not for lubrication, just to keep the temperature under control.
sbwrench,
It was great to meet you. How has it been going? I have had a couple small issues with the car but nothing that hasn't been taken care of. I did a little reconfiguring on the radiator fans to help cooling while the car isn't moving. The automatic is working great! The Holley system controls it very well. When I weighed it, I didn't have the air system for the boost control in the trunk so that will change it some. It was 52/48 F/R with a total weight of 2760.

Have not been around this board lately but have a few updates. This is a really fun car! I have taken it to the track (drag strip) a few times and got a couple good passes. It goes perfectly straight and is very easy to drive. Best time so far is a 6.208 in the 1/8 mile at 114 with a 1.46 60'. I think there is more left in it but not sure how much.
