Hey all, thought I'd introduce myself. I don't own a Miata just yet, but have been watching local listings for one.
I live in the Central Valley in CA. I'm looking to do a LS3 swap into a Miata sometime in the near future to use as a pure track car. I currently track an Audi R8 V10, which is amazing on the track, however I know I'll only ever go so far in the car because of the mental barrier.
I was looking at getting a Porsche 964/993 for the track, until a coworker (a Miata fanatic) linked me to the Flyin Miata V8 conversion kit, and that picture of the LS1 in the red Miata had me hooked. I went home and watched all of the Tom's Turbo Garage videos for his LS3 swap.
First step for me (aside from finding a Miata) is to expand my garage so I have room to work.

Welcome! Between here and a few other sites you'll surely be able to find all the info you could need to complete your swap. Watching Tom's build really explains the whole process in detail as well. Some people come in thinking oh, just toss the engine in and it's done. Not quite, if you want to have a car worth driving anyways.

Looking forward to getting to work and sure I'll be asking questions (after searching first )
Should try to find the pictures I had from my last track event... was my first time tracking the R8, so went down to A group to make sure I didn't get too hairy. The R8 on the track is amazing... AWD is amazing, low center of gravity, and it just grips through the turns like crazy. I don't think I've found its limit yet. But it is kind of heavy, so have to brake so much earlier than others like Miatas, early BMWs, etc.

Welcome great to have another guy on the left coast!
With no Miata in the stable to convert yet you could save yourself a bit of work and $$ if you wanted to on a high end track car.

stng, missed your Q... looking for an NA. Thought I had found the one for me, but the seller decided to sell it to a friend of his. Was a '94 M Edition with only 42k on it.
