OK maybe I don't have the worst intake set up possible. It would be interesting to know what you air intake temps run with that.

I'm going to do some logging, but my next few weekends are filled so it'll be a while. Plus I need to request the newest software from autoenginuity since my old shop laptop died.

Worth every penny of the 70 bucks and you can keep an eye on it all the time. You can also set alarms for it so it wakes you up if it hits whatever temp you program it for.
UltraGauge OBDII Scan tool & Information Center

It will time your 0 to whatever times for ya too...

Because I need more distractions? ADD remember?!?!...a see a squirrel (or a skirt) and damn near wreck now! ...kidding of course. I'll likely pick one up for occasional use, but I'm looking for options that are more aesthetically pleasing

The autoenginuity software has that too. And 0-100. I used it quite a bit to tell if mods were helping or hurting when I had my 996.

The one big thing LS cars don't like is lack of laminar flow to the Maf, I'm told a bout 4-6" of straight pipe pre-Maf to keep things in order. Looks like you are all set, but like you've said, the vette intake should make a big difference.

If someone wants to try and test my Vette MF103 sometime, since I'm 6+mos out, let me know and we can arrange that, its supposed to be good for a big gain even over the z06 piece.

I'd like some dimensions from it if you get a chance. It'd be nice to be able to compare it to the vette intake I have.

Cool Hunting season has opened

In the interest of performance comparisons the below happened on a close course in Mexico deep in the depths of my imagination....

Hunting season has opened. Today's kills include a Ducati 1200S, a Porsche Cayman RS, and a Porsche GT3. The 2 P-cars gave it their best go to try and drop me and were clearly frustrated. Especially when I passed them at speeds resembling their price tags. Something tells me they were thinking, "ya...but its still *just* a Miata". ...I'm ok with that...

ok...so the speeds weren't that close to their price tags, but it sounded good on Facebook and and my friends know I have a *slight* tendency towards poetic license. Getting by that GT3 was no easy task and I'm pretty sure he wasn't stock from the exhaust notes. The 15 or so miles of playing in the twisties and the straight pull at the end did leave me with an ear to ear grin. The GT3 driver was less enthused about the situation.

Hey. Late as usual, I'll get those dims tonight. I snapped photos on my phone before I left. Phones currently in my tool box, so I need to snag that right quick.

here's a few specs are as follows:
Inlet 4.5in
outlet 4 3/8ths
length from throttle body to downward bend 6.5 in
thickness at middle point (about where radiator support is) 2.5"
width at same point 6.5"

I'll upload photos as well. I apparently didn't measure the filter, but I'd bet that will fit.

here are a few:
will be a while before I test this out. Will be nice to know when it goes together, though.
