Well it does have the separate head rest seats in it so maybe he changed the interior color from tan to black and outside from Merlot to red. Pretty pointless to call it an M though!
I think I have seen that car in the mnet paint section as he was painting it about the same time I painted mine.

No, they mistook this for an M, it's always been a red car from the looks of it.

Hi Guys as it is my car thought I would ad a bit here to clarify. The car is an M and in 96 was starlight blue mica. Kind of a Pepsi blue colour with a whiff of purple. I changed the car to Velocity Red just last year...a Mazda Speed Color. Merlot was the for the 95M edition.
Adjustable headrest seats were only available in North America in 1995 in beige but in the UK were available in many years including 1999 which is where these are from. I had them shipped over from the UK. I like them as I love the head rests that go 1 inch higher than the stock version and also the fact they are fabric which holds me in and doesn`t get hot.
Cheers.

Thanks very much. Couldn't be happier for him. Great guy that really seems to appreciate the effort and care that went into the car. Also is from the US so the car in a sense is returning home.
